docker for windows equivalent for “-v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock”

I’m trying to control the host docker service from inside a container. With Linux host and Linux container that is usually done like this: docker run -it -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock alpine I now want to achieve the same with a Docker for Windows host and a Linux container. If tried quite a lot of things, mostly […]

Where are the Docker registry login files?

I am switching Macs and don’t remember my Docker registry login. I could go in and reset it all, but I would rather copy the hashed login files to the new Mac. Where are the docker registry credentials stored locally on OSX, Linux and Windows?

What is the best way to run an Ubuntu server on Windows with Docker and develop with an IDE?

I am trying to switch from developing in an Ubuntu VM to using Docker but don’t want to be confined to command-line applications/editors etc. Is there a way I can use Docker to run my Ubuntu server with NodeJS/Rails/etc while editing my application code in Windows using an IDE, or at the very least a […]

Certificate errors after changing docker location on windows

I’ve moved my docker location from my C:\ drive to another drive. I did this initially by removing the docker machine (docker-machine rm) and creating a new one ($ docker-machine –storage-path “D:\users\me\.docker\machine” create –driver virtualbox default). I also set the environment variable MACHINE_STORAGE_PATH=”D:\users\me\.docker\machine” which was needed to get docker to see the newly created machine. […]

I’m starting to experiment with Kubernetes on my Windows 10 dev machine. I’ve got minikube running on my machine, with some “canned” test services, so it looks like Kubernetes is working properly. Now I’m trying to create my first service by following this: http://kubernetes.io/docs/hellonode/ The problem is I can’t build the docker image. I get […]
