How to get a docker history from an image that has not been pulled yet?

Since docker history is great to see how an image has been created or if it’s applicable, it seems to only available for local, already pulled images.

Q: Is there a way to get a peak into a docker image without the need of downloading it?

  • Docker error on Windows 2016 “Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers”
  • Error pushing image via docker registry v2 api
  • Mapreduce job ipc.Client retrying to connect
  • single host multi container v.s. multi host single container
  • Different file owner inside Docker container and in host machine
  • How to execute a shell command before the ENTRYPOINT via the dockerfile
  • 💡 Perfectly it would fit my needs if I would be able to inspect the “Dockerfile”, but I bet this is more impossible than just looking at the history of an image 😉

  • How to create concourse loop for repetitive resources and jobs?
  • how to use pip to install pkg from requirement file without reinstall
  • fossology docker image fails to start
  • How debug Dockerfile which runs on one platform but not another
  • LogStash container restarts on Kube pod
  • Docker-Tuleap-List all Tuleap database tables running in docker container
  • Docker will be the best open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications.
