How to easily install and uninstall docker on MacOs

My question is

How to easily install docker to have it available in terminal and how to uninstall docker on osx?

  • Delete files in offline docker container
  • Copy a folder into a mounted volume within a Docker Container
  • Fuse Fabric8 Clustering
  • psycopg2 installation for python:2.7-alpine in Docker
  • docker service not listen to tcp port
  • Docker deployment update shared volume
  • How to check whether a docker service is already running on UCP using shell script
  • How to setup unit test in Docker for nodejs application?
  • Docker Swarm discovery is still relevant?
  • Docker virtual network interfaces are mandatory
  • Docker exec command
  • How can I use GPU in Docker image with Theano launched from Windows host?
  • One Solution collect form web for “How to easily install and uninstall docker on MacOs”

First install cask and then type in terminal:

    brew cask install docker

And run docker by Mac bottom menu> launchpad > docker (on first run docker will ask you about password). Thats all 🙂

Type brew cask uninstall docker . If you install docker in other way than by brew cask then execute below commands:

    sudo rm -Rf /Applications/Docker
    sudo rm -f /usr/local/bin/docker
    sudo rm -f /usr/local/bin/docker-machine
    sudo rm -f /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
    sudo rm -f /usr/local/bin/docker-credential-osxkeychain
    sudo rm -Rf ~/.docker
sudo rm -Rf $HOME/Library/Containers/com.docker.docker # here we delete stored images
Docker will be the best open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications.
