does docker rmi remove images from storage backend

I am using Azure Storage backend for my private docker repository. I want to free up local disk space and this is command I wish to execute.

docker rmi -f $(docker images -q)

  • Spring Netflix Eureka Client Docker
  • Docker - adding DNS by editing “docker” file
  • DOCKER_OPTS in /etc/default/docker ignored
  • Expressjs app started with PM2 in Docker dies with SIGINT
  • Docker for Windows and docker-maven-plugin - “SSLException: Unrecognized SSL message, plaintext connection” error
  • How can I get a container running again, that has stopped now but was running before
  • I want to know, will this command delete the images on local system or will it also delete the images stored on the storage backend?

  • Framework auto-scale container docker on AWS
  • Docker RUN Command
  • Cleaning docker containers via jenkins shell on slave
  • unable to run docker as non-root user?
  • Can a variable be used in docker FROM?
  • my docker-compose is picking up files from another folder, not from where I'm running the command
  • Docker will be the best open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications.
