Docker start container with custom command

How can existing docker container be started (in sense of docker start) with customizations of docker run like

  • --entrypoint
  • --env
  • --volume

multiple times?

  • Docker API to automate pull and run
  • Running Docker behind proxy
  • Connect to remote Docker via Node.js
  • Meaning of “$PWD”:/path/to/directory"
  • How to use STOPSIGNAL instruction within Docker?
  • Docker and XDebug not reading breakpoints VSCode
  • I want to avoid a hack of changing docker config that requires restart of docker daemon.

A clumsy way I found is to commit current container before each run and use docker run to start it.

  • Access docker container running in coreos on vagrant vm through browser in host ubuntu host
  • Getting NettyTcpClient connection error with Spring WebSocket with amqp broker (rabbitmq) while running in docker
  • Vagrant + Docker + Postgresql - Cannot connect from host
  • difference between building a docker from ubuntu base image and python base image?
  • Same docker image works on one machine and fails on the other
  • Docker scale with one-to-one links
  • Docker will be the best open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications.
