Docker start container with custom command

How can existing docker container be started (in sense of docker start) with customizations of docker run like

  • --entrypoint
  • --env
  • --volume

multiple times?

  • Disable hosts file in docker container
  • Sharing directories in a Docker container both with a Dockerfile and after the container is running
  • Push container to bluemix registry: 405 Method Not Allowed
  • Passing interpolated environment variables in Jenkinsfile
  • Accessing docker container mysql databases
  • Docker running composer in startup script, composer never runs
  • I want to avoid a hack of changing docker config that requires restart of docker daemon.

A clumsy way I found is to commit current container before each run and use docker run to start it.

  • Docker compose doesn't recognize 'env_file'
  • Docker hello-world does not work
  • Why set VISIBLE=NOW in /etc/profile?
  • Docker compose can not create container for postgresql and redis
  • how to make docker bypass the page cache in Mac OS
  • Gracefully stopping celery in docker container
  • Docker will be the best open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications.
