Boot2Docker Image (Ubuntu) Download Very Slow on Windows 8.1

I’ve just installed boot2docker on Windows 8.1

Trying to run :

  • docker-machine and docker for mac volumes
  • my docker-compose is picking up files from another folder, not from where I'm running the command
  • Owncloud 8 with Docker behind nginx available through subdirectory
  • Shared Volume in Docker through Vagrant
  • Setting up docker-compose, uwsgi, Django and nginx, for Pycharm, makes nginx return 502 Bad Gateway
  • How can I mount a volume to docker container in OSX?
  • docker run ubuntu /bin/echo 'hello world'

Download ubuntu image takes a very long time. I have 9 mbps download speed but after waiting for 10 mins, still it downloaded only following :

    4.324 MB/ 65.77 MB
    1.621 MB/ 65.77 MB
    1.080 MB/ 65.77 MB
    540.2 kb/ 65.77 MB

    pulling fs layer

Tried many times, sometimes it exits with giving error

Untar finished with status 1. Unexpected EOF

I don’t know what to do. Not many questions seems to have the same error on windows. Any help would be appreciated. 🙂
